The next stop on the 3D laser scanning show circuit is IHEEP. This conference was not on a lot of people's radar until all of the mobile LiDAR pros decided this would be a great place to make contact with the transportation community - agreed. I will be providing an update on the progress we are making on the TRB Mobile LiDAR Guidelines and Geospatial Tools synthesis projects. See you in "Sweet Home Alabama."
The BIG industry news since our last eNewsletter is the announcement by FARO and Trimble that they signed an OEM and Distribution agreement for the FOCUS 3D. On paper this looks like a coup for both parties, but I think it will depend on whether the cultures can work together as a team.
The next edition of LiDAR Magazine is taking final form just in time for InterGEO—the world's largest geospatial technologies venue. All that register within the next two weeks to receive a print copy will be included in our upcoming mailing.

Who is Checking Your LiDAR Data?
Throughout the years I have seen many projects advertised, awarded, executed and then delivered to the client. The client receives the data, copies it locally and then final payment is made to the vendor and life goes on as usual. Then, someone actually checks the data and notices that there are many discrepancies associated with the scope of work and what was actually delivered. How does this happen and more importantly, how ...
