Kinect-based Rescue Bot Print E-mail
Written by Gene Roe
Thursday, 03 March 2011

I could write a post almost every day on interesting Kinect hacks – hmmm I wonder if… of course there is a Kinect hack website.

One has to be impressed with the incredible flexibility and range of 3D applications that the Kinect is able to support. These U.K. University of Warick students are to be applauded for their potentially low cost, life-saving application of the Kinect. The students at Warick also hope to equip their  robot with a type of manipulator that would allow them to bring food and medicine to trapped victims.

You have to be impressed with how powerful it is. I am sure there are many other rescue situations beyond earthquakes where this could be used. Kudos to all involved.
